Messi and Pep reunited as Barca and Bayern meet in the Champions League semi-finals

The draw was made in Switzerland this morning.

BARCELONA WILL MEET Bayern Munich in the semi-finals of the Champions League meaning Pep Guardiola will come face to face with his former charges when the sides meet in the Nou Camp in early May.

Juventus will host Real Madrid in the first leg of the second semi-final.

The two-leg semi-final will mark the ninth and tenth times Barca and Bayern have met in Europe, with the Germans winning 7-0 on aggregate when they met at this stage in 2012/13.

Second semi-final also features a manager returning to face a former team with Carlo Ancelotti who was sacked by Juventus in 2001 after just two years in charge. Zinedine Zidane, for so long associated with the Old Lady of Turin, will also have a keen interest in the game.

The first legs will take place on 5/6 May with the return fixtures on the following week.

The four booked their places in the semi-finals with varying levels of comfort this week.

Barcelona probably had the easiest night’s work as they dispatched PSG without leaving third gear, Neymar’s two first half goals seeing off the French side.

Compatriots Real Madrid needed a late Javier Hernandez goal to see off 10-man Atletico while Juve rode their luck to get past Monaco.

The performance of the quarter-finals undoubtedly came from Bayern though as the German giants overturned a 3-1 first half deficit to hit the hapless Porto for six and book their spot in this morning’s draw.
